Legal Services
Publishlawyer.com (the Law Office of Daniel N. Steven) offers the following services:
1. Flat-Fee Legal Services – a simple, secure way for writers,
editors, and publishers to quickly obtain quality legal advice for standard issues and
situations such as contract and document drafting and advice – at a predetermined,
flat fee. Publishlawyer provides online
legal advice at a cost reduced from standard law firm rates of $195 an hour for an
associate's time and up to $375 an hour for partner’s time. Publishlawyer is able to
provide expert legal services at these affordable rates because overhead expenses are
limited to the monthly charge for an Internet Service Provider and a Web page.
Further, most document drafting situations do not require face-to face meetings and can be
handled via e-mail, fax, or telephone. See Flat-Fee
Services. For additional information, see our Frequently
Asked Questions About Legal Services.
2. Standard Legal Services – If none of these cover your
situation, then you may obtain a phone or email consultation
from publishing attorney Daniel N. Steven, who offers a full complement of tradtional
legal services relating to publishing, business law, and estate planning. For details, see
Practice. Also see his Fee Options.
3. Business and Consulting Services – Many questions I receive
from writers and publishers are not strictly legal, but general business questions, or
span both the business and legal areas. At Publishlawyer we use a lower fee schedule
for business consulting then legal services. See
Business Services.
NOTE: All legal advice is based on federal law and/or general legal
principles common to all jurisdictions. You will be informed in the event a specific
state’s law is involved. Daniel N. Steven may be retained to make court
appearances for you only in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. or in the District of
Columbia. Outside these areas, he will accept business and personal matters that do
not normally require court appearances or refer you to a local attorney (although he can
be admitted to practice on a particular case in other states, the cost of time and travel
usually is not cost effective for litigation.) |
